This very rare and beautifully restored 1937 Stromberg-Carlson tabletop radio is ready for purchase and shipping or local pick up in Redwood City, CA.
This Art Deco design, with its use of Rosewood veneer for the main body of the radio is exquisite. There is a maple inlay, sided by oak and walnut - just a gorgeous combination of veneers. The ebony grille has a s tulip motif and the octagonal dial make this iconic radio a collectible.
Th five-tube, three-band (SB, SW, police) radio performs well. There is good sensitivity across the dial. Stromberg-Carlson was well known for quality products. We went through the radio replacing all of the capacitors, checked and replaced resistors and tubes where needed. A full alignment was completed, and this radio is ready for many more years of play.
These radios are hard to find, and this is a wonderful example of an iconic Art Deco design.
